Metro District Water Operators School

Conducted by the Minnesota Section American Water Works Association and the Minnesota Department of Health

The next Metro District School will be Tuesday, April 2 to Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the Earle Brown Heritage Center, Brooklyn Center, MN 55430.

Agenda items include: Respect in the Workplace; Main Breaks; Generator Operation & Maintenance; Gopher State One-Call Technology; Meter Technology & Customer Portal; Corrosion Inhibitors; Well Pump Operation & Maintenance; and Leadership for Succession Planning.  There are also offsite tours offered on Wednesday, April 3.  There will be an Exam Prep offered as well as an Exam Study Session on Wednesday.  The exam will be given on Thursday, April 4 at the Earle Brown Heritage Center starting at 8:30 am.  Questions regarding the exam contact Noel Hansen at 651-201-4690 or noel.hansen@state.mn.us.

 Water Utility Management Institute:

Hosted by Hamline University's Center for Public Administration & Leadership, St. Louis Park, MN

The program is structured to build strong supervisory and management skills. It is geared toward individuals who are moving into a supervisory position for the first time and for more experienced managers who want to sharpen their skills to help in their present positions. Register to attend an interactive program for professionals working in the public works arena that focuses on identifying individual styles; recognizing what makes an effective leader; and applying this knowledge to strengthen leadership and management skills.
