Education Committee

Purpose

To ensure that the education needs of Minnesota water operators are met and that education on drinking water is presented throughout Minnesota.

Action Items/Tasks

  • Through the district representatives to the committee, and with the assistance of the Minnesota Department of Health, conduct at least one water operator school per year in each district.

  • Maintain representation on the Minnesota Training Coalition to coordinate training activities with other organizations.
  • Conduct at least one Drinking Water Institute for teachers, in conjunction with the Science Museum of Minnesota, each year.
  • Work with the Center for Global Environmental Education at Hamline University for the development of a module on Minnesota Drinking Water that will be part of a CD-ROM as well as available on the Minnesota AWWA web site.
