Education Committee

Purpose

To provide educational needs for Minnesota water system operators and to promote and support
education on drinking water throughout Minnesota.

Action Items/Tasks

  • During the calendar year, with the assistance of the Minnesota Department of Health,
    coordinate at least one Water Operator’s School in each Section District with the District
    representatives to the Education Committee.
  • Maintain representation on the Minnesota Training Coalition to coordinate training activities
    with other organizations.
  • During the calendar year, conduct the “Water Works! Drinking Water Institute” in conjunction
    with the Hamline University Center for Global Environmental Education for school teachers to
    learn about drinking water and develop the subject into inquiry-based curriculum.
  • Coordinate educational and training sessions with the Programs Committee for the Section
    Annual Conference that meet the established purpose of the Education Committee.
