              IV.            Unfinished Business

                                         A.            World of Water Drawing Contest

Brian distributed at the meeting a draft registration form flier promoting the competition.  Brian recommends calling this project “World of Water Drawing Contest” to avoid confusion with the Fresh Ideas posters.  John volunteered to take the lead to organize the competition with the help of Chris.

The preliminary plan is to hold the contest this fall after kids are back in school and see what amount of involvement we receive.  The budget for the competition is $250.  We will include a similar budget amount for next year. We plan to hold next year’s contest in the spring so that we can make calendars with the winning drawings to sell/distribute at the Annual Conference in fall 2008.  Michelle will talk to Bernie Bullert about the possibility of coordinating the competition with Water for People and World Water Day.  World Water day is held on March 22.

Brian has a list of teachers who have participated with the Minnesota Department of Health’s water training program.  We received permission from the MDH to contact the teachers regarding educational activities. However, the main focus for promoting the contest will be AWWA members and their kids, grandkids, etc.

                                         B.            Central District Water Operators School Meet & Greet

Lisa, Chris, and Grant attended the Central District Water Operators School.  The meet and greet was a success and the plan is to continue hosting socials at the district conferences rotating the location each year.

                                         C.            Fall Conference New Member Orientation

Refer to the Spring Meeting Minutes 3/6/07 for discussion of this proposed program.  Grant volunteered to work with Todd Butz in assisting the Membership Committee to organize a new member orientation.

                 V.            New Business

                                         A.            Review of 2007 YPC Goals and Budget

The 2007 budget was distributed during the meeting.  The committee is within the budget for 2007.  After winning the Minnesota Fresh Ideas competition, Bo participated in the Fresh Ideas poster competition at the AWWA conference in Toronto.  Todd attended the National YP Summit. Several events, including fall conference activities, will still take place under this calendar year.

                                         B.            Drafting the 2008 YPC Goals and Budget
