Membership Committee Administrative Council

Purpose

The membership committee promotes the benefits and value of American Water Works Association (AWWA) and Minnesota Section membership. Its primary activities focus on the recruitment and retention of members in all membership categories.

Action Items/Tasks

• Leverage national AWWA membership promotion and retention programs.
• Impove committee member participation through regular informal communication and encouragement, and provide opportunities for recruitment training and easy access to membership materials. Seek regular committee members representing each district.
• Include membership promotional ads and materials in the Breeze and Light Breeze.
• Promote membership recruitment drives through prizes.
• Recognize members who recruit the most student memberships, individual/operator memberships, utility memberships, and service organization memberships.
• Hold conference-call meetings quarterly and one face-to-face meeting each year at the annual section conference.
• Grow the organization to more than 115 utility members and more than 1,000 total members.
